12G-SDI Coaxial Connector BNC0 Series

JAE has launched a right angled receptacle BNC coaxial connector with superior mounting feature. This connector has a high-frequency performance, compatible with 12G-SDI (SMPTE ST-2082 1), which is ideal for 4K uncompressed transmission.

The recent increase in high-definition 4K/8K video equipment, with high-speed transmission of large-volume video data, has been a push into various equipment, catering to applications such as broadcasting equipment, network cameras and medical equipment. To comply with industry standard there has been great demand for corresponding interfaces, including connectors, to follow suit.


Conventionally, a 4K uncompressed transmission was through the use of four 3G-SDI channels. However, there were industry concerns of space and wires required of the connector. To alleviate these concerns, there is a growing demand for a connector that is 12G-SDI standard compatible capable of transmission through a single channel. We have developed the BNC-coaxial connectors to comply with this standard and industry requirement.


The BNC Series connectors are offered with same form factor and dimensions as that of our conventional BNC Series. The main difference being that the new BNC Series has high-frequency characteristics necessary for transmitting high-resolution video signals. In order to maintain the superior functionality the connector has been designed with a nickel barrier, to prevent solder-wicking, to avoid reduction of impedance characteristic and minimizing deviation of high-frequency characteristics.


The shell terminals are pre-solder coated to improve soldering during actual mounting process. The connector structure inside the panel has also been reduced in size to allow for space saving and offer high-density mounting, supporting the miniaturization of equipment.


This is a high-frequency coaxial connector capable of delivering 4K/8K video signals through a single channel and can be used in wide variety of applications, such as broadcasting equipment, various types of audio/video equipment, measuring equipment, network cameras and medical equipment. JAE is continuously developing high-speed transmission products to satisfy the increasing requirements for high-definition imaging.
